Do not be afraid to follow through on your swing after you hit the ball. You can adjust your backswing, so you will not hit the ball too hard.

When you shorten the length of your backswing, you will get more control of your chip shot. You must also, accelerate your club as you start your downswing.

The next chipping golf tip is crucial to your success. Select a target on the green, to aim at when chipping. The optimal shot, would be to hit the ball low, and let it roll to the pin. You may need to hit your ball over an object or obstacle,so a low shot will not be feasable.

If you have bad swing habits, you need to work at correcting them. Spend some time at the driving range, re-learning the proper techniques and swing mechanics for hitting chip shots.

Do not scoop the ball when hitting your chip shots,you need to hit down on the ball. Otherwise, you will not be able to control the shot.

When you practice your shots at the driving range, be sure that you include chip shots in your routine. Mastering the chip shot will dramatically lower your scores.
