Fixing Your Golf Swing

With the increasing popularity of golf, many have tried and failed to make their game perfect. A professional and quality play will sometimes take years to master. But if you really want to fix your golf swing such that you can play well with your friend, then you need to read these tips on how to fix and improve your golf swing.

With your left hand, grip the club in a way that your thumb lies along the shaft. Then, warp your left hand with your right hand in such a way that your left thumb fits into the cup of your right palm. For your stance, point your knees in slightly. Point your right foot straight ahead while your left foot pointing slightly to the left. Keep in mind that you will need a wider stance if you have longer clubs.

Also, your elbows and arms should be as close as possible. Your right and left elbow should point directly at your right and left hip, respectively. Next, try to imagine a flat plane between your shoulders and the ball. To do a back swing, begin at your hands followed by your arms and shoulders. Always make your hands move parallel to this plane throughout the swing.

Many golfers let their left knee collapse towards their right knee while doing a back swing. Thus, causing their shoulder to drop and making their hips sway and overturn. To solve this, imagine your left knee going out toward the target. You got it correctly if you begin to feel tension and stability in both knees. If you still can\’t get it, try imagining a basketball between your knees.

To do a downswing, first rotate your hips back towards the ball. This will give you enough power to strike the ball. When the club already made contact with the ball, your left wrist bone should point at the ball. Keep in mind that if your club went outside the ball-to-target line, you\’ll be in trouble.

Additionally, out-to-in swing can cause a golf slice. It is cause by an open address position. Making an open address position would make it difficult for you to do a correct back and down swing, to correct this problem making an imaginary ball 3 or 4 inches in front of your golf ball. Before you strike the golf ball, follow the path towards the imaginary ball.

Keep in mind that the instructions above are meant for right-handed golfer. But if you are a left-handed golfer, just reverse the process by changing left hand to right hand and right hand to left hand and so on. Lastly, bring a friend who is an experienced golfer with you. He/she will observe what part of the golf swing you need to improve.
