The short game is where you make your scores and that offers lots of options as well. Forgiving wedge designs mean you don’t have to make any compromises with your wedge play anymore. If you have problems playing little flop-shots then high lofted wedges are there to help. If bad bunker play is spoiling your scores, a hollow sand wedge might help. These are super game improvement wedges and almost impossible to miss-hit or shank.

Rule changes have made way for some pretty peculiar looking putter designs. Outlandish, but forgiving. If your putting is failing you, one of the new forgiving putter designs might be the best choice. Closing the putter too much towards the hole? You probably miss a lot of putts to the left (for a right handed golfer) and playing a face balanced putter may well be the best option for you.
